Our Staff Wildlife Haven - Phase Two

Work has continued to rejuvenate an area of wasteland by Calendar Club HQ in Exeter and turn it into a Wildlife Haven, a place where nature can thrive and for our team to relax and take in the beauty of the local ecosystem.

Phase two has been completed with a lot of progress made by Calendar Club and our sister company. You can read more about our plan and the first phase here.

  
The first job was to continue working on the main pathways which involved a lot of back and forth with wheelbarrows and tipping stones to the right places. These stones were then compacted down for a level surface for easy access to the haven for our team.

  
Work has now begun finishing the pond, with a draining area being added to which was then filled with hardcore and topped with earth before seeds were sown on top.

Logs have also been added around the pond providing a cosy home for insects.

Six trees have now been added which will act as a small orchard growing as the wildlife haven blossoms. 

We have already gained the interest of some local visitors.
